Editorial standards: how we research, review and publish

The rules behind every guide, article and page on this site: where facts come from, who checks them, and how we correct mistakes.

Who publishes

Every page on this site is published by Digital Space Co, a web and search studio based in Lahore, Pakistan. Guides and articles are bylined to the Digital Space Co editorial team, not to individual authors.

We publish as an organisation because each page is researched, written and checked by people in different roles, and the studio answers for all of it. Where a particular role has reviewed a page, we name the role rather than the person, so you can see what kind of check was made. You can read about the roles in our studio.

Where our facts come from

  • Facts about other organisations come from primary sources: a regulator's or ministry's own page, or a platform's own help and partner pages. Guides list their sources with the date we checked them.
  • Numbers come from our own published prices or from a primary source linked where the number appears. A number we cannot source is removed.
  • Claims made by competitors or vendors are never presented as market statistics.
  • Delivery-app commissions, fees and advertising minimums are never stated as fact. They are labelled with who reported them and a note to check your own partner agreement, or they are left out.
  • Religious and seasonal dates carry their official source, and dates that depend on the moon are marked as subject to moon sighting.

How pages are reviewed

Before publication, the page's owner checks it against these standards. A page can also be reviewed by the role closest to its subject. Each role checks:

  • SEO lead: school admissions, search and website content, and each page's titles, headings, links and structured data.
  • Digital account manager: restaurant, delivery-app and local-operations content.
  • Content strategist: clear and accurate wording, no suggestion of an office or staff in the GCC, and no personal names.
  • Social media manager: how social platforms and channels are described.
  • Marketing manager: every number and outside claim against its source, including fees and regulator references, and our templates and offer pages against our compliance checklist.
  • Graphic designer: brand and design articles, and the layout of our templates, diagrams and tables.

The CEO signs off each anonymised example before it is published. A page shows a reviewed-by line, with the role and the review date, only after that role has reviewed it. No page on this site carries a reviewed-by line yet.

Anonymised examples

We have not published any anonymised examples yet. When we describe work without naming the client, these rules apply:

  • At least five matches. The description must fit at least five real organisations listed in public directories, so a reader cannot tell which school or restaurant group it is.
  • A dated record behind every fact. Each fact in an example is backed by a dated record in an evidence file we keep outside this website.
  • What we generalise. We give the type of organisation, its size band and its region, and a season rather than a date. We never publish a name, logo, web address, street, group, head of school, inspection rating, founding year, unusual curriculum mix, creative work or screenshot that could identify it, and no figures without records and the client's permission.
  • A visible label. Each example carries one of two labels and says what was generalised and why:
    • For our own client work: "From Digital Space Co's work with a (type of organisation) in (region); details generalised to protect the client."
    • For earlier experience: "Team experience: work led by a member of Digital Space Co's team before joining the studio; not a Digital Space Co client engagement."
  • Written by the person with the experience. An example is written or dictated by the person who did the work, never drafted by AI tools, and the CEO signs it off before it is published.

How we use AI tools

We use AI tools to assist research and drafting. Every page is checked against these standards before it is published, and where a named role has reviewed a page, the page shows that role and the review date.

We use them for summaries of sources we have already checked, outlines, first drafts of English sections from our own briefs, headline and description variants, structured data, and checks such as broken-link tests.

We never use them to produce statistics, quotes, client details, testimonials or results; to draft anonymised examples; to write Arabic copy, questions and answers or image descriptions; to generate pages in bulk; or to make images presented as real schools, restaurants, clients or people. Nothing is published as unedited AI output.

Arabic pages

We do not publish Arabic pages yet. When we do, they will be written natively in Arabic by Arabic writers, and never machine-translated from our English pages.

Updates

Guides and articles show the date they were published, and an updated date when their content changes in substance; small fixes do not change the date. Seasonal pages are refreshed once a year, before the season they cover. Pages that describe other companies' platforms list their sources with the date each one was checked. The date at the top of this page shows when these standards last changed.

Corrections

If you spot an error, email info@digitalspaceco.com with the address of the page and what is wrong. Our contact page lists the other ways to reach us. We check the report against the source. Once an error is verified, we correct the page or unpublish it promptly, and a substantive correction is noted on the page.

What we never publish

  • Invented statistics, clients, results or testimonials.
  • Client names, logos or work shown without the client's written permission.
  • Rankings, awards or superlatives about ourselves, or lists that rank us against other agencies.
  • Reviews that were paid for or rewarded.
  • Near-identical pages written for one city after another.
  • Anything that suggests we have an office, address or staff in Saudi Arabia or the UAE.
